Fahmida Mirza, a former medical doctor, Wednesday became the first woman speaker of the National Assembly as the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and its allies, poised to form the government, showed their strength and voted for her.

I believe in gender equality. What men can do, women can do as well. There shouldn’t be any issue on who is the stronger sex.

Among nations, men and women should work hand in hand for the common good. It is nice to know that Pakistan is welcoming the leadership of more women in their country.

Perhaps, Benazir Bhutto is a big influence among Pakistani women.
